I am just sitting here waiting some videos to load and decided to add up all the distances done by GPSTC-ers at Fangy's yesterday.
By my rough reckoning the combined distance of all the sailors that I can remember, it is in the order of 1828 km's between lunch and sunset yesterday. I have not really paid any attention to this before, so I am wondering is that some sort of record for any spot on a given day?

It would have been at least 1829 k's if I had been able to get there. Now that would have been a record.

1828km by my reckoning also. 22 sailors from 4 teams. That is an average of 83km per sailor, and included 7 distance PBs!

3 sailors did over 150 km each
8 sailors did over 100 km each
17 sailors did over 50 km each
only 5 sailors did less than 50 km, and that includes a 4? year old, one sailor with the flu, one sailor recovering from injury and one newbie sailor with his first GPS post.

That's not a distance day!
Sorry to rain on your parade Fangy but there was a huge distance day at Hardie's back in 2009 (March 2nd)

Lost count as it went 2300Km + from 3 teams, MM, SRM and Pinnaroos!
422 Km from Claude, 300+ from Snake, 275+ from Nebbian. 382 average from SRM (Istaak sailed the first 180 at Hardie's, derigged and went to Australind to finish his 342)! Now that's a distance day!

Wow. That's amazing. It was March also, and same wind direction as last Saturday. The wind came in earlier and stronger though. I love Claude's comment - Another cruisy day at Hardies on IS86, 6.7CR, 34 Goldwing, a bit maxed out on the 6.7 for about 2Hrs, could'nt be bothered changing down...
I haven't seen Claude for a while...
