I have a 460 SSR/Race mast, 100% carbon, 1.55kg (pre Redline). Nice mast, done me well. Does anyone know the bend characteristics? I'm guessing around 12-14 based on limited info on www.peterman.dk/masts-all-imcs01.htm

Cheers, P

To put it another way...

Has anyone used a Severne Race mast on a Code Red or a Reflex? Or maybe a Pryde slalom/race sail. Just looking to see what options I have for a slalom/race sail without changing my mast.

Paddy a Code Red is a Severne product so it should be perfect

True but it's designed around a Redline and www.peterman.dk/masts-all-imcs01.htm shows a distinct difference between Redline and Race masts (10-11 vs 14). No idea how accurate the list is. Guess I'll have to ask if I can rig a couple of sails.

I've had the SSR 460 race mast and replaced it with a Redline 460 and both worked fine in my Code Red 6.5. Now using that 460 Redline in my Reflex 7.0 and 7.8 and still works fine. I've got an Enigma 430 for my Reflex 6.2 and a Blueline 400 for my Reflex 5.6 and they all rig great and feel great. I reckon you'll be fine with the SSR in any of the Severne race sails. The SSR was a nice mast - mine lasted really well and is still no doubt out there somewhere.

Thanks Dave. Don't suppose you've tried the 6.2 with your blueline 400? I have one of those too and there is a proto Reflex 6.2 for sale locally.

I've rigged my 6.2 on the Blueline 400 and it looked great, but I haven't sailed with it. It rigs on my Enigma 430 without any extension, so the Blueline would require 30cm. I generally like to keep my Blueline ready to rig my 5.6 on without having to de-rig the 6.2m. I've heard that the guys in the northern hemisphere often use this combo (6.2 with Blueline 400) for speed-sailing. So, I reckon it'd be fine.
