Hi All

I am after some advice regarding my HT Race Extreme 13 fin which looks to be in poor shape. I don't know whether to attempt to restore it, or just leave it alone.

The leading edge looks and feels in good condition - uniform and there are no nicks.

The following edge has a few nicks in it. It also looks like it's been filed one side only.

The surface of the fin has pits and bubbles.

Any advice would be appreciated :)

They were a very good tight course slalom fin back in their day. Still quite good in their sweet spot. Worth tidying up I would think.

Fine wet and dry on a block. Sand across the cord. Don't touch the leading edge.
For the trailing edge scratches use coarser paper on your block. This area is less critical.
Next spray with 3D filler paint (Spray can from Bunnings -black is good :-). Wet sand again with 600 and then 1000 until almost all filler paint is gone.

Polish to suit... or not... to your taste ;-)
