I worked out how to include Gybes in my Nautical mile calculation and noticed that the Max Speed listed was my max speed for the day achieved a few runs earlier not the max speed for the runs in question
Has anyone else noticed this or know why it is?
Cheers in advance for any replies

Frankly no, I've always found the max speed for the run was on the run.
What is the speed, at the line in the speed graph? looks about 33 to me.

(edit) just had a thought, right click in the speed graph, and I think you can select doppler speeds as well.
That may show a different speed story.

BB, what you are seeing is your best NMs for the session, 7 of them.
The top one happens to be the best & includes your days top speed.
This may not always be the case if you got your top speed on a short run or in a gust.
The speeds in the "Speed" column are an average speed fot the entire NM.
It just so happens there was a gybe in it, if you had have gone further without gybing it would have been an even higher average.

The Max speed listed in each NM are the max speed for that NM run but you should be looking at the average.

Does that answer your question?

Paul, my best speed for the entire highlighted run was 33.909 knots and my best speed for the day was 36.2 knots but this was achieved three runs/legs before where the highlighted NM is
I have a feeling this may just be a bug in the software, and have found it in at least one previous trackfile where my best NM included 3 gybes but does not include my best max speed for the day

Ads, you sure you are not just highlighting the blistering speeds you have been achieving recently[}:)] (this would be justifiable IMHO)
Hope to see you tomorrow

Bundy, are you thinking your best speed of the day (2 second max) 36.2 has to also be when you did your fastest NM?? They are different categories.

If you want to upload the file to www.ka72.com/ I will take a look at it. I am always interested in oddnesses when it comes to the speed figures.

Dylan.

Sorry Guys I think I asked a confusing question
If you look at my screenshot and the highlighted NM the Max Speed column on the far right shows 36.217knots but through this actual NM i only achieved a max speed of 33.9, the 36 was done earlier in my session and should not show in that column
but why does it?

Dylan file is uploaded

Oddly, when I ran the file through RealSpeed, I got the same segment, same speed, but the "Min Speed" and "Max Speed" columns have different values in them, and they are the values I would expect to see. I checked my settings were the same as yours.

Old version?

Yep, you need to relabel the links.
But it's still a strange occurrence even with an old version.
Mal may have an answer, but if it only happens on an old version he's probably not interested.
