I'm a bit stumped here, wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I don't have a serial port on my computer so I'm using a serial to USB adapter cable which has a driver that was automatically downloaded from the web. I can't get any software to see the data on the GPS, or even see that the GPS is connected. The USB to serial comm port driver seems to be working ok in the computer's device manager (COM5), but no joy when I put that into the settings for G7towin, or GPSAR.

I got a 40+ knot max speed readout last time I went out, so I want to download the data and see if it was a spike or real...

[Mr. T accent]
Read The F***ing Manual, FOOL
[/Mr. T accent]

Let this be a lesson to everyone contemplating such foolishness, install the driver supplied with the USB-Serial cable *before* plugging it in and letting windows download something that doesn't work properly.

Lucky I found the disc at all really, it's been halfway around the world with me.

Only downloading because I want to take the GPS out on the motorbike now, track analysis of speedsailing will have to wait. Did I indeed crack 40 knots?...

He's in WA so you're ineligible Firie...

Quick who wants to claim him? 38 knots would look good in the Mandurah mob's results

OK Greenpat, you need to join the Mandurah mob. So long as you did those speeds windsurfing (kiting or motorbiking doesn't count)

Don't listen to anyone else who says you need to join their team either.

Ha Nebs, you'd be lucky to beat Mineral to GreenPat

Actually, I have a potential tean mate up here with a 39+ (Sandy Point) he can't get off his bloody Garmin
He's going to join up when his Navi rolls up

Sorry mate, I wouldn't know one end of a windsurfer from the other, that was with a kite.

Typical kiters. English comprehension isn't their strong point.
