Yesterday for the first time i got into the footsraps for real. I wa going sooo fast =-). Yesterday was on of the windyest days at the big lake where i go. The wind was high, definitely planing conditions. I have just one question:

While i was skimming away, my butt kept SLAMMING into the water. I'm dead serious it was like that thing they do in windsurfing movies where the white water hits the camera lens. It tailgates me hard then i'm blinded for a second. I''m leaning out alot. I'm 13 and 5'2, with a 6.3 sail. What can i do to stop it? shorter harness lines? Higher boom?

Practise.

It sounds like you have just made the transition to in-the-straps-planing, so its probably a bit early to suggest some specific techniques, except maybe to hone you skills at predicting when it will be that windy again.

Sounds more like stance to me, how bent are your legs? They shouldn't be locked straight, but just a very slight bend at the knees. If you're not comfortable like this then try raising the boom a bit. While standing on your board next to the mast, on the beach, the boom should be somewhere between your upper chest and neck

I get bruised every time I sail. Last time was the worst though - slammed shin into mast and got compartment syndrome (thanks Brett for the diagnosis). Was very painfull for nearly 2 weeks and made for very sleepless nights . Thank god for anti inflamatories and ice packs
