about 18 mins on the go pro of swimming bit of hard work with a dead weight !!

not my favourite place to go swimming

fortunately It was under warranty so got myself an X9 loner from Sam at windsurnsnow till the new batch come in ... thanks for the great service Sam !

another great reason to buy a go pro "from sam" for once it was recording !! lol

You can turn the top half of the mast upside down and insert it back into the sail and broken mast, then sail back home...

Heaps easier than swimming!

i never heard of that before...that's interesting. so now the top section is upside down, with the splintered end pointing up into the top of the luff? is that right?

and sorry to see that break - it's obviously new to be under warranty, it doesn't even look like it was under much stress when it went. must have been a manufacturing fault i guess.

Err not quite, you take the broken bottom part of the mast that's connected to the full top part, and throw it away. Then take the top part out of the sail through the luff cutout, spin it around, re-insert back up the luff tube through the cutout, then insert it into the broken section.

You end up with about half of your sail being supported by the mast, the top bit flaps around a bit and due to no downhaul it's a bit like a sack of potatoes without the spuds but you can still plane back to the beach.
