Please excuse this dumb newbie question. Recently acquired a Garmin Instinct 2S solar watch and recorded my first sailing session yesterday. The watch/Connect show a top speed of 24.2 knots. When I uploaded the gpx file to KA72 just now it shows 2 sec peak at 17.96 knots. This sound right?

It's certainly possible, the watch could be showing the top speed in a spike, whereas KA72 has a few filters that get rid of spikes.

Yeah, excuse my ignorance, I just had a look at the session in the Garmin Connect app. Should have looked at that earlier. I started recording just before carrying my gear to the water and there are two > 20 knot readings at that time. Lesson learnt. Thanks for your help.

OW sprints to the water only to out sail his PB beach effort.
