I have compiled a new free trial version of GPSLogIt for the Defi/DSC that can be used until the 9th of May this year.

I'm about to load it into the pixie to see what the differences are, I'm hopping it will cure the "display off" syndrome.

I'll be back after I've done a few tests.

Looking good, when the install process asks for permission to go ahead, it lists, "no sleep mode", as a new function.

Just taken it and the GT31 for a cycle ride. Phone display turned off for the whole duration.

Certainly has fixed the display off syndrome!!!!! Speed talk worked the whole time as well. So we can now save a bit of battery by leaving the display off, and just turn it on when you want to check results.

Haven't seen anything else new so far, may take it for a sail this arvo if the wind gets strong enough.

<div>The only differences are the modified power saving options and the online tracking with 10s intervals (without minimum speed and finished runs). Hopefully we'll see a few more mods in the next few weeks.

Took the Pixie3 for a sail yesterday, waited for sat lock, then hit record (yes I remembered this time) and turned display off, just listened to speed talk as I sailed.

Great result, no strange numbers, all results within coo-ee of the GT31.

Display off has two advantages, there's no possibility of touch screen activation by water pressure and it saves battery life. Only downside is having to turn screen on if you want to check results or change settings.
