I've just found my Mini Motion & thought I should charge it up & download what's on it.
Problem is I can't remember how ??
Can it be done on a phone & do you need internet?

I just turned it on with a long press on the button & got a continuous red light, put it on the charger & hopefully it will go green when charged.
I think that's how I did it before but it's been a while, a long while, like 2 years ??

If you can't work it out and give up, let me know. I will take it off your hands...
Seriously though, instructions on motion website.
Set up 192.168.0.1/index.html on your phone. Turn on motion, 2 quick presses to turn on WiFi and you are away.

Have a read of the instructions on www-motion-gps.com, that will give you the best info on how to operate it, you can do everything needed on your phone

From what you said about a long press and red light coming on, sounds like you might've put it into safe mode, press the button again a few seconds to turn it off. Charge it for a couple of hours, then to turn on hold button for 3 seconds, led will flash 3 times to tell you it's on and logging.

Getting 3 green flashes now so assumed charged.
Will check it out - see how I go ??

Back to where I have internet, been travelling extensively for a while.

Can connect to the mini motion via wifi to either my phone or laptop but when I try the 192.168.0.1/index, it doesn't connect, just times out saying no internet.
Even tried the link on the web site.
Not sure why or what should actually happen, the instructions are vague, to me anyway ??

Some detail help would be much appreciated ??

After you start the motion wifi (2 short clicks) and see a continuous green light, go into your laptop wireless settings and you should be able to select the 'Motion' network. Only after you are connected to that network type 192.168.0.1 on your browser. You don't need internet access to do this

That's what I'm doing but it goes nowhere after that.

Not sure about the motion, but our DIY loggers have a similar problem.
Most browsers these days want to go to the secure connection, ie , but our loggers address is .
We have to get rid of the "s", that the browser automatically includes, for a successful connection.

Maybe add .html to the url. Did you press the button twice and see the green light come on.

Pretty sure I tried html & tried /index as suggested.
Definately getting solid green led & showing in wifi.
Will try the laptop again.
I've downloaded tracks before but about a year ago, my memory & patience with this stuff if failing??
All sounds simple & it's great when it works but when it doesn't it's pretty frustrating ??

Appreciate the help guys

If you are on a smartphone, turn off "mobile data". Android refuses to go to a IP adress if it has Internet connection.

Tried the laptop & phone again but no good.
We have a Samsung Tablet so tried that & it worked but took a while to download the files, some were big, like, Flying from Cocos to Perth & flying over Lake Argyle.
Now I need good internet to email the tracks to my laptop to view in Real speed.
Currently at Coronation Beach sitting Out a bushfire with dodgy internet.

My laptop has been playing up & a couple of puter experts couldn't fix it so I'm guessing that's the issue there but my phone, near new Nokia so should work, guessing that's just operator error.

Anyway thanks for the help guys ??
