Recently my Motion battery failed (would not take a charge at all)
I opened the unit and fitted it with a replacement battery I had on hand already (3.7v / 202205 / 400mAh)
It now charges and works fine, but yet to test on water
Ideally replace the battery with the same as original 3.7v / 304040 / 450mAh
It's a pretty easy job, I used a heat gun (not too hot) to release the back

well used worktop!

Unfortunately our DIY boom units aren't so easy. 3D printed and potted. They may come apart with a heat gun, but everything is still incased with epoxy.

This is going to be required for many mini motion users over the next few years.
It would be good to come up with a documented reliable process.

How are you going to reseal the unit?

Andrew for now I have just wrapped insulation tape around it to hold back on and will use it in a waterproof bag to make certain it's working 100%.
With no display available, does it make more sense just to always run in a waterproof pack?
If i had to do it again I would try to leave the Cooper charging coil attached to the back, I can't say that is definitely possible, but I was thinking it after.
The remaining parts in the case are 100% firm and solid, set in resin I guess.

I'm jealous, I had to replace mine, it's looking much too new at the moment.

The hard thing these days is to find a decent armband, most are too big and the excess flops around on your arm.
The Paqua Midi used to be my go to band but they don't seem to be around anymore.

Aren't you afraid to go slower with a smaller battery?

A couple of us tried getting to the battery of one a couple of years back. and failed dismally. Totally destroyed the internal wiring. We never thought of using a heat gun.
WELL DONE TONY.
