Just a short GoPro video from last Thursday, another perspective of Green Island.

Interesting perspective. How did you mount the camera to the mast? The water looks quite shallow and overall it looks much too warm for this time of year

Firie,
Geez that Eastern run looked beautiful. Also were any of those u-turns your PB?

Imagine windsurfing in just boardies!
So jealous. It takes me half an hour just to get all the insulating layers on at this time of year!

Moby the camera is mounted on a Flymount with a GoPro tripod adaptor although Flymount now make an adaptor to suit the GoPro.

The water's not real deep, mostly about knee deep, shallow enough near the island when stuffing up my turns and landing on my back I'd touch the bottom, then I'd have to water start as it wasn't deep enough just to jump on. On the Saturday I saw 2 sails and one board destroyed, one board up for repairs and some sad fins, never a dull moment. Even though I have destroyed a couple of fins here I don't push my luck any more

Na Snags no Pb turns in vid, just happy to get around after going downwind. Also that's running next to the Eastern Run, did the ER at end of day when tide was higher.

Interesting negative camber in the top batten (starboard tack, begining and end of clip). Always thought the reason why current sails can be much bigger than older 80s sails is the use of aerodynamic ballast at the mast tip. This clip illustrates it perfectly.

hey yoyo,
could that be an optical distortion through the fisheye lense?

also, are those cams fully rotated?

Yoyo / Boogie the camera is about 3/4 way up the mast, the sail does twist off mobs but I'll have a better look next time
