Had some great sessions there with Mark and alot of others . The sand hills look very high now and the run not very long also . Last time we sailed it a good mate nearly got swept out to sea . Had to ditch his rig and paddle the board back in . I also remember another time Steve Walsh and I were rigging and saw a really big fin in the shallows and were a bit skeptical about going out . The best day was maybe 10 years ago now . Was actually the first time we tried Harrington. It was a huge east coast low . There is some footage somewhere on YouTube.
With all the flooding earlier in the year it's surprising more sand wasn't cleared out along the north breakwall.
The story is that the fella who designed the breakwall was English and didn't realise the breakwall should be on the south side of the entrance and it's been a bit of a mess ever since.
