thanks choco.

camera is a canon 40d, lenses are the kit lens 70-300mm for 95% of the shots and 17-85 kit lens for the other 5%. all lenses had polarize filters.

as you can see i was at the bumpy end of the course. would have loved to have gotten some of the flat stuff in the pics.

so far i've trolled through 300 odd of the photos and uploaded whats above. i kept a couple of vando, sausage & Kelly for the magazines.

i've still got about 500 images to go through, when finished i'll make a book of hi-res for online download from a website.

p.s. really love the 40d, would really also love a good polarizer and some L series lenses.

Okay the winners for Fashions in the Field

second place runner up: Choco. Whilst echos of 'where's ya bike" could be heard, Cycling fashions never looked so good on the water - bold but daring crossover combined with an over-handed grip caught the judges eye.

first place runner up: The Cosmonaut AKA Mikey Macquire. The judges were impressed with the eastern european look. This could be the next big thing ....another over-handed gripper occupies the winner's dias

winner: Phil Nott. Way ahead of the rest. The chequered boardies ensembled with a diagonalled PFD and topped off with a lovely wrap around head wear coloured co-ordinated with his 6.7 RS took the judges breath away.

i've become a bit of a fan of polarizing filters, i use them if it's really sunny or if i am looking into the sun or for controlling reflections off glass or for B&W.

i like that with windsurfing they bring out the hue in the sky and remove the glare on the water. as soon as the light starts to drop or if it's even slightly cloudy i don't use them for windsurfing as they slow the lens down too much.

the images come out of the camera in jpeg with minimal sharpening and contrast. so software is used to enhance things.

that's a good price, the 50d is slightly better than the 40d. if you can find a 40d cheap it would work very well.

i bought my 40d grey market and got my lenses on ebay. lenses came with filter, hoods etc.

Actually that's a blistering good price for a near pro-sumer canon, even if it's just the chassis.

lol, that's gold,

i heard big things about the famous vando sandbank incident.

now i've seen the video i think it was a devious ploy to take you out glynn so you didn't win the comp 2 years running. [}:)]
