Over there we could possibly sail with one hand on the boom only because conditions are so benign but at my everyday sailing on very rough water , strongly overpowered on this same sail that works for me at 90% 10 to 25 knots winds, with extreme gusts that habit helps to stay alive ( works for me at least) .

As I remember it you were dreging away at 4kts on your go fast but slow kit when I passed you on a kite.

Then you didn't post your session because as you said on the rigging lawn 'I'm so embarrassed about when that kite went passed me.' Then you were complaining about being kicked out of SWAT. I was going to pay out on you, but the tears made me feel sorry for ya.

you mustve mistaken sean for me on the beach & the water, he misses the max factor of team swag. i didnt see any zeppelin's go past on the water but it's quite possible i was waterstarting, i know you dont remember what that is since the big gay balloon always holds you up. & the only tears i shed are for odin

Sorry buddy but we dont take ourselves so seriously yet the players above all go fast, probably because we pay attention & listen first time round then go put it into practice instead of ignoring & asking the same stuff again & again. The physics of human body & sport means there is a right way to do everything & you see the stances & movements replicated in everything from windsurfing to martial arts to even basketball. At the very top guys make subtle adjustments to those principals to achieve some very small thing such as better acceleration out of gybes so they must compensate with slightly wider stance & hands. Guys in swat & the mob improve because they ask questions then go try, almost always they come back in & go wow i improved. The guys that reply "but i do it this way for x reason" are the guys stuck in the same rut now as 5 years ago.

If you want to learn the best thing you can do aside from tow is dont change gear, forget everything you know & read article after article. The reason for this is the same as why alot of good athletes dont make good coaches- they dont know, they are so atuned & have so much muscle memory that they do stuff by feel, sometimes they dont want to answer as they feel it took years of hard work for them to get where they are. This is where hart & cribby & a few others are good (also one of the reasons swat started as the very good guys wouldnt/couldnt answer the questions). Once you then hit a wall you again look for cause & effect & sometimes look at your gear to find what suits your riding style. The other thing is gear & therefore styles change with it, there was some very old thinking brought up earlier in this thread.

Forums are just everyone that has an opinion, it's not about who's correct & more about who hits "post my new reply". You want the answer its simple & very to the point- in this case why cant you close the gap? It's irrelevant as was established before, the cause of what you think is the issue was your rigging & subsequently stance, simple problem solved. I know forums that are to the point dont work though, one of the drag racing forums i follow has a healthy following but is dead quiet with only something like 50 topics since 2007. Its direct & to the point but not a community so cue the sh!t, what makes your sh!t more important than ours? Even the antoines & bjorns & lockwoods & vandos & katos have questions but those questions will never ever be asked on a forum, why is that? Come sail at wello, it's not sailing with us that'll improve you, it's that you can see what & why those guys are fast & we'll answer your questions & we stumble through getting faster together (with a little bit of friendly givn eachother stick thrown in).

As a Macro -scientist I use to ask this same question 2 or three times and still have may doubt until the theory could be empirically tested in
my experiment.
That have nothing to do with the "ignorance & disrespectful" behavior- this is simply how science works.
Firstly - not all good advises could instantly implemented.
For example You could say: to do planing gybe you need to do this and this, then show somebody video 3 times over.
That still doesn't guarantee that aspiring rookie sailor will jump on the board and do alpha 25 in the moment after.

To learn new tricks takes time, for me possibly next few months to understand and implement.

i hope this helps you to understand the fundamentals of how your gear works so at least u have a theoryetical background and how to use your body to hold balance and to make your gear go quicker !!!
