lol.... yes Meta pretty flat in the pics you posted, two points:

It was a westerly last wednesday which is approx 120 degrees flow over the wall, which is a good angle for low'ish chop build up, and broad enough for quick speeds.
The chop builds significantly quicker and higher up the course, the broader the flow, sailable to about 145-150 degrees.

The pics are taken about a quarter of the way down the wall, looking back up to the bear off corner, so the flatest section of the run, with little chop build up. If the pics would have been shot looking the other way - the rest of the way down the strip, you would see the chop building.

A good indicator of how flat the course is overall, are the 500m speeds. Low 40's with high 10s avg runs, would indicate pretty choppy down the last 200m of the 500.

Still ... it's a great spot and easy to sail ....... only let down by its lack of length (700m corner to corner) for NMs and good 1hr / distance stats.

Nice to see pictures of El Reg and other Portland Pirates getting recognition for a tough day at WK......

Not forgetting everyone else that was out of course.

Just need to get my arse up there next time and maybe get H to dust off his kit.

spewing nobody got Faz's crash- he broke 2 GPSs and a weight jacket at 48.xkts on his first run. Jac would have been in trouble for 2nd place if both his GPSs hadnt karked it. Looks like a good angle for the final bearaway. There is nowhere that doesnt build a rolling chop at that angle. Even the canal has chop when its broad.
