Can anyone give me some advice on gps apps for android phones ? Also water proof cases .

I use endomondo for skating, it's OK. Maps session, highest &average speed, can do challenges etc. Nags about paying premium though and it's really pricey.

Yes, I compared Open GPS tracker to a Navi GT-11 on a cheap Huwei FPB phone. The results were very similar. In regards to a case look for an appropriately sized Pacaqua.
