Getting file off the GT-31 without a sd card

Does anyone know how to get a file off my GT-31 as my card is broken I have seen it done as I saw a mate do it without a sd card I have ordered a new card on eBay just waiting for delivery.

You need the Navi application on a Windows computer, Navi Link II I think its called.

Hook the GT-31 to the computer with a USB cable. The tricky bit will be finding what virtual COM port the USB is using. I think you can find it going to to the device manager. If not just go through them till it works.

Go to the log data and download the data to the computer. Then you can use the data file as you would normally. There is a fair chance the log data will have a few sessions on it.


There are a few threads here about that issue over the years that are much more of a guide.

Perhaps a guide needs to be a sticky.

why would you order an SD card off ebay when you can buy a 2 gig one in a shop nowadays for under $10.00 ?

Yes that is true. I use a Sandisk 2GB card I bought in JB Hifi for about $6. It works perfectly in my GT-31. Not sure if they still sell them though.

Speaking of which, I'm going to go to JB Hifi and see if they still sell them. I think they do.

Yes I should have done that they are cheap I paid a bit more for a Kingston heard they are better.

Very true. I think I'll pop over to JB tomorrow and pick up some spares.

Looks like 2GB SD cards are a thing of the past. I had a look for one at the local shopping centre and could not find one. The smallest on sale are 4GB cards.
