My old GW60 strap has split halfway across on one side. Is there a safe orcrecommended way/spot to remove both sides of the strap so it can still be used in an Aquapac??

The GPS logo bit is the antenna, as long as you leave this connected to the device, you can do what you want. A sharp knife with water as a lubricant should cut straight through the strap.
