I fiddled with the settings and stuffed it up. I thought I only changed the scrolling speed ( which I thought was how long it took to change screens but next sail it said I was doing 50kts so I obviously stuffed up bigtime..
What needs to be changed?

The choice I get for the units setting is KM/MI/NM..so which of those?
Did you mean NM?

For a start:

Logging - ON (5Hz)
min speed - 0
Units - Knots (NM)
GMT - 11
Speed genie - between 15 and 20 knots - 20 for me.

Second row you would have to ask someone who uses the Alpha firmware.

I'm sure Decrepit posted set up screen shots. Do a search.

Yes Sue somehow you chaged the most important thing, you turned loggin off. That means NO data gets recorded!!!!

As Andrew says, logging = 5hz.

And the 50 you read wasn't knots it was Km/hr because you have "units" set to KM. That's what you have for "distance units" and that is correct, because we want distance in Km.
And speed genie if you want to see last run speed after you tack back to the tack off should be set below your max speed downwind and above you max speed upwind. So I think Andrew's 15 to 20 is only going to work for him and Sandy Point where he walks back up wind. I'm sure he does more than 20 knots sailing upwind. I'm slower than him and my speed genie is set to 27 when doing speed runs.
If you're doing alphas, then it needs to be set below your min gybe speed, so 15kts is probably going to pick up Andrew's best gybes. However I can still get reasonable alphas with min gybe speed below 10kts. So I change speed genie to 9kts when going for alphas.

BEWARE!!!! though one of the big pains with the GW60 is it vents when you press any button. So if you change mid session from wanting to see the last run speed back at take off to alphas you need to dry the watch and fingers before changing speed genie. Other wise you risk corroding the button contacts which then stop working.

Second row is all wrong as well.
Unless you have very good hearing you can leave the buzzer off.
RSLT 1A- 1B, With the GW60, Max speed isn't really relevant as it's just the 0.2s peak of a sawtooth wave form and has very little bearing on you 2s average. In my opinion it's best ignored. What is more relevant is your 2s average, this is Msec. So I have Msec - Top, for 1A - 1B
For 2A-2B I have Nsec - Top
For 3A-3B I have &500 - top
4A-4B I have turned off by using an X at the end, Max- X
This gives a split screen with last run and best for session. If that's too hard to read you can make B the same as A, then it will be a single screen. but then I don't think you get the best run.
Also you have time and distance turned off, X = off O = on

I copied this one from Decrepit except changed the time. I want alpha feedback and most of mine are pretty slow..

I don't know how many things got changed.
I started by changing the scrolling from the longest time to the shortest as I thought that was the one that could speed the screen changes up so I don't have to wait as long to see each page.
I'm changing it on the desktop. Earlier I was clicking reset to save the changes so maybe that's how everything got screwed up?

Now why would the default setting have logging turned off!!!!!!!

And thinking over night, the optimum speed genie setting for anybody, depends how they speed sail. If you sail a speed bank, you're going to stop at the end of the run, and check speed there, so you don't need speed genie to hold the last run. you may as well leave it on the alpha value. around 10kts is about right if you're doing full planing gybes, set it lower if you're not. Just be aware that the GW60 calculates alphas differently, so what the watch says, is not necessarily what you'll get.

And you are correct about scroll speed the lower the number the faster it goes. But if you set it too fast you may have to wait for it to go round twice.

Yep. I want it to display the last run as soon as I gybe and I dont care if it resets again as I go upwind. In fact if I am at LG doing multiple bearaways, I slow to 19 knots between them to see my last run. I also set the GPS-Logit speed talk to 20 knots, that way it announces my 'last run' as I gybe, or when I point upwind and slow to 19 knots between speed runs.

If I wanted it to hold the last run speed run until I get upwind again, I would have to set it to 10 knots or less, as I find I can drop to that in a Gybe, especially if I come off the plane. But then you almost have to stop to see the last run.

I generally find 21-23 knots the best VMG speed upwind on speed and small slalom boards. (Easy to learn if you have speed talk )

ahhh, You may be correct I think. Now I am confused. Maybe it works the opposite way from GPS-Logit. The difference between 'stop run' and 'start the next run'? I will have to douple check what it is set on. I guess I dont look at it much unless I stop at the end of a run, since I mainly use GPS-Logit for feedback. and I rarely stop at the end of a run at LG.

You can hear Logit 'last run' announcement here when I drop below 20 knots after the second and third runs. @ 2.0 mins and 2.52.
