olskool said..Pete, so thats one guys version of Dielectric grease uses. As usual there are many views on the interweb.
Permatex makes a Dielectric grease which they RECOMMEND using on CONDUCTIVE parts. Check it out. Ive used it for many years on marine n mining situations with NO degredation to electrical signal nor contact surfaces. Just saying....

Dielectric grease, or tune-up grease, is a silicone-based grease that repels moisture and protects electrical connections against corrosion. ... The grease does not conduct electricity, so it shouldn't be applied directly to the mating surfaces (pins and sockets) of an electrical connection.
Cocky2, typo there mate?
Ive only been a Sparky for 33 years so id be recommending that
Dielectric grease SHOULD be applied to terminals.

So what you are a sparky, I have been a sparky for 35 years and done electronic study at Tafe for 2 years.
You do not participate GPSTC , Post in Ka or own do you even own a GW60 , why even comment?
There is no way that any one who uses and downloads a GW60 is going to use "conductive Lube" all over the terminals and clip used while charging and downloaded to a computer. On the terminals you will most likely short circuit between them as they have no barrier and only about 1mm apart
"Lube" as was written is very misleading to most people.
As you are in the trade you know that there are speciality "lubes" with conductive additives that can transfer electrons.
