My GW 60 becomes very slow to download.
Usually it takes at least 30 mini with many attempts and restarts.Recently I could not even complete download. It stops at 30 -40%
I did try different USB ports on computer, same result.If there is anything at all I could do to download GW60 data successfully?

Are you using a Windows machine?
Thus is the pattern we see using a Mac, with Wndows XP or 7 running in emulation, in my case VMWare. I have never struck that using my old Lenovo Windows XP laptop.
My solutions that seem to help:
-Place the mouse over the window and keep moving it slightly. It still does it but rarely fails to download and starts again much faster
-Click on a blank part of the window when it freezes. This often forces a retry.
-restart the watch using the GW-52 utility power off button sometimes helps to decrease the frquency of the timeouts.
- It seems to happen less when I have a smaller session, and less if I use the GW-52 utility to download (I do not run the Alpha firmware)
-Also try a different version of the Utility. I am actually using v1.181021B.

or maybe get a new driver matched to your Win OS from here? semantic.gs/locosys_technology_gps_receiver_driver_download (Disclaimer - I have not tried it)

Peter my watch always downloads in under 90 secs
My laptop has a blue high speed usb port and I use that one
But that have successfully used the non high speed USB ports and it doesn't affect the time to download much
I checked the screen shot and you have the same software version of the GW60 utility as me (UTIL V1.5A0310B)
So it's not the software has to be either the transfer cable or the PC or contacts on back of the watch

I'm running 5-6 year old laptop with windows 10 / 64-bit operating system

I suggest:
We do a test of your watch and cable on my laptop at The Train some time after sailing and eliminate the issue being with the watch or the cable

That will download and delete the log data OK, but doesn't delete all of the display memory.
May or may not help you, but worth a try.

Works perfectly quick.
So at least we know that problem could be on mine computer .
I am trying now to delete utility software and reinstall.
Not sure what to do with USB driver (?)
There is only version for Win 8 and I have Win10. Should I reinstall this driver for Windows 8 ?Ok 5 min later. Utility reinstalled. Manged to dowload 10 km trip in less then 3 minutes only after several restarts.Strange , because on TonyK computer wasn't any breaks or restarts .

I did try all USB ports on my laptop. All the same.Downloading photo from phone , no problem. 300 mb went very quickly, so no USB port at fault.

I think it is related to COM port issue. VMware does not seem to handle COM port commections that well and it times out a lot. Even my 10 yr old Lenovo XP laptop does it flawlessly

another attempt a second ago.USB driver for Win 8 reinstalled. computer restarted, Same log 10 km.No cigar this time.

My laptop is very old, 10 years or so DELL E6400
correction.
Log is only 6 km long today and still takes a lot of time to download
I give up on this laptop that I use everyday for everything. Luckily I have another spare Dell Inspirion 3000, not used often.New installed GW60 utility and total success, Instant download in few seconds. So maybe my main computer is hijacked ? virus? too much stuff and devices ?

My oldish Windows tablet it hit and miss, yesterday I couldn't get a connection and downloading. I probably unplugged and waited half a dozen times, eventually it just worked without me doing anything. Today I plugged in and it worked first time. Maybe perseverance is the key.

Macro, have you tried cleaning the connections, and checked that the pins on the plug move freely in and out. It's sounding a bit like a noisy connection to me.

I used to get bad connection all the time. Now I give the pins a little wipe before attaching to the watch, give the plug a wriggle and then wait a few minutes before plugging in the USB end.

Yes . I did try all 4 USB ports. Exactly the same.
I did clean connectors on cable.
The same GW60 works perfectly fine now on another mine Laptop.So the problem could be only with conflicting software/ drivers/ protocols with something on my old computer. Strange because all other devices on USB work fine: laser printer, mouse, smartphone, scanner. Everything but GW60.I did also try to disconnect all other USB devices with only GW60 left on. Same thing. Download 6% and start straggling. Possibly the quality of the driver is not up to the standards.So from now my standard procedure is: download GW60 file on another dell, send to KA72, download now from kA to my old laptop to see on GPSResilts/ ( I don't want to buy the second license for another computer)
