These are the ideas so far:

1 1 cup for each team declared Joint Winter Cup Winners

2 Have Cup sawn Lasered into 2 Halves, and becomes a Unique Novelty and talking point

3 Bring a third team members speeds and scores for each division to separate the two teams and have one winner

4 Have a sail off in August, Combine points for July and August and lowest points becomes the Winter Cup Winner

5 Further ideas welcome?

It will make history if ya cut it in half - don't get too fancy a hacksaw should be the tool of choice.
I think the third team member rule best fits the spirit of the competition.

If there is to be a countback of third and maybe 4the team members that is a change to the rules people were competing using ( and sounds pretty complicated to me if all team scores are to be compared in this way to get points not just the slect 2)

My idea was only when there was a tie to resolve. Don't think it would be very hard to get the average score of best 3 in each division, for 2 teams.

By the way I've got a trusty hacksaw, that's feeling hungry for trophy! But it might be a fight for the biggest bit.

I've had another thought, what about eliminating the butterflies?
If just the 2 teams numbers are used without the rest of the GTC, that probably will give a different result, and should be easier to do than 3 contributors. If it's still a tie, go to 3 contributors..

No brainer

Love the idea of cutting it but can see that being to costly (to do a good cut)
