Any one use a GT 31 with Mac? Whats the go for this?
IS there a way to do the firmware updates, down load times and plots etc etc without using bootcamp?
Any advise is appreciated.

Sorry I've no idea what bootcamp is, so hope this answer is relevant.
Don't know about updating firmware, you may have to impose on somebody with a windoze machine.
But everything else shouldn't be a problem, just down load the SD card to your computer then either use GPSarPRO or the KA72 site to analyse the data

I have been a MAC user for many years but rarely use it now for session analysis. I mostly use windows now. The other program that works on MAC for analysis (and IMHO the easiest to learn and use) is GPS-Results. There is a Mac Native version available that pretty much mirrors the functionality and interface of the Windoze version.

GPSAR-Pro runs in Java and is therefore the same when run on any operating system that can run Java.

I have never tried doing firmware updates of the GT-31 using a MAC but I guess the computer would have to be booted up in Windows to do it using the tools written to run on Windoze.

To download your data from the GT-31, just 'SAVE ALL' to card (MISC menu if you have the recommended windsurfing versions of the firmware installed - the ones that generally end in a 'T'), remove the SD card and copy the contents directly to your computer using the built in SD card slot or a USB/SD card adapter.

If you don't run Windows via Bootcamp, it is probably easier to find a friend or teammate with the windows machine to help you upgrade firmware.

I use GSAR-Pro. It's also handy for loading the SBN files directly off the SD Card and then saving then as GPX so you can look at them in Google Earth.

I think the last time I did a firmware update (a long time ago) I used bootcamp. Couldn't find a Mac option. Just in case you haven't seen this it was really helpful:
