Can anyone help with settings for GT-31. Used today for first time and failed to record results, In "Data Logger" have "Interval" off, should this be set to 1 sec? Have "Min Speed" set to 5 knots.
In "Memory Card" have "Log Switch" set to ON-FIX. "Min Speed" set to 5 knots and had
In "NMEA Items" had default settings which included "SBN" OFF have changed "SBN" to 1 sec, all other items have defaulted to "OFF" as a result.

When I attempted to use Navilink 11 to read the data logger it reads some of the file data then records an error message in Navilink.
I then saved the data logger to memory card and used a card reader. This file looks pretty small ie 100 bytes only and doesn't open in Realspeed.

Any clues?
All I can say is thank heavens for Speed Genie cause at least I got some results for the day.

Just re read Toms instructions for setting up the GT-11. I am going to claim that I had a shocking flu last week and my brain was awol. Seems that Interval should be set to 1 sec and SBN should also be set to 1 sec. Didn't see that last week when setting up the GT-31

Yep. I think you have worked it out already. Recording interval set to zero would probably result in no tracks recorded. 1 sec is the correct setting.

BTW. I prefer the 'ON' setting rather than the 'On-Fix' setting. The 'On-Fix' records data only when there is a GPS 'Fix'. The 'On' setting record all the time the GPS is on. 'On-Fix' saves a bit of memory but there is so much on the SD card it doesn't matter and there have been some reports of missed critical trackpoints when using On-Fix.
