Since I up dated to the 1024f firmware I've been getting false top speeds using trackpoints. Looking at the track points data it's believable, there's more than 10sec of smoothly ramping speeds, and what looks like valid entries every sec. However there's invalid entries some time before and after.

2sec max speed examples from 3 sessions,

Doppler Trackpoints
24kn 30kn
22kn 26kn
30kn 39kn

And in each case the tackpoint and doppler speeds are in a different part of the session.
I've got realspeed set up to ignore invalids, and I've marked the beginning and ending invalids.

Anybody getting this as well???

Decrepit, are you using the SBN or the SBP format? If you send me your tracks I'll take a look.

They both look the same, on the 2 early sessions, haven't looked at the SBP on todays.
I'll send you the file.

Dont think this is firmware related.
Ive had this same thing with other versions.
I would be interested in what Mal has to say.
Like you say it all looks fine between the bad points even the acceleration.

He thinks it's to do with the sirf chip apparently the "invalids" is the altitude data going crazy.
Mal doesn't think it's firmware related either, but the only other thing that's coincided with the sudden appearance of these errors, (I'm getting at least one every session now, where as before there weren't any), is a change in aquapac. Thought that may have resulted in the GT11 being in a slightly different position on my arm, but I checked today and it's in the same place.

Just to prove the theory I'll go back to the last version and see what happens.

Nup, thought it might have been the backloop attempt at Corros, (yeah I know, just forgot I was still wearing it till I surfaced), but it started to happen just after we got back here, when I did the update. I'll go thru my old files and pin down just when the first event was.

changed back to previous version of firmware, and it's improved things. Still getting the odd invalid spike, that's just given me 42kn 2sec and a 27kn alpha, but it's very easy to see it's false, occurs in one 8sec track point, instead of the steadily ramping 1sec points that was happening before.
