Yeesssssssss..........well, it looks like the Poms won the first Test in the series.
Unfortunately, it brings back dreadful memories of the Third Test at Headingly in 1961

Just like our weather, it was an unpredictable pitch, but we started well and were in a commanding position.
Then along comes a speedster in Fred Trueman who gets the new ball and takes 5 for 16 in six overs.

- and he's not even a real Pom - he's a Yorkshireman

Australia held them to a reasonable score (although R Benaud got carted about the park)
We batted well next until that pesky Trueman took five wickets without conceding a run and win the Test in 3 days.


He also bowled R Benaud for a duck in both innings.
