So i've just got back from a sail and went to upload my track onto KA72 when i found that my session has been broken into about 5 .sbn files. Now there is a second problem in that only the top half of my GT-31 screen is visible so i'm unsure as to what i've selected or changed. Would any of you tech gurus know what i've done and how to fix it?
Not that I know of, the only thing that should create new files is power off/on and file size being too small. I guess there's another possibility, although I haven't seen it, is a bad connection to the SD card, that could create all sorts of confusion. A possible work around is a "save to card" from the data logger.
I have had multiple GPS files from a session when I forgot to engage the key lock on the GT-31. The bag pressing on the button brings up the popup with "Save to card" as the first item, which creates a new file. That can happen several times during a session.
So just to be clear that's 10 files in total for the same session?
Do you have analysis software to see what's in them? I suspect the .sbp files have everything earlier than the time it was created? I guess the .sbn files only have the current data on it
It sounds like there is water in the GPS which is why the screen is half dead. This is probably also causing the erratic behaviour of the memory recording as well.
oh dear, i have a feeling this might be the case. It got a bit wet the other day even though it was bagged my paqua got a split in the case. sandwich bag was full of water, however the seal on the sd card slot seemed dry. maybe not dry enough
