Unfortunately I have to cancel the official GISW event-a Mexican standoff is the reason ...

I managed to secure 6 of the 7 necessary permits but MSQ will not Grant approval to run the event without a current Public liability document.The renewal document was required by 2pm today ...
(MSQ refuse to accept the current document which expired June 30 2010)

The AWA policy is renewed each year at the end of the financial year but the insurer & the relevant brokers have not provided the necessary paper work for MSQ to allow us to proceed.They have not returned recent E Mail correspondence.

This is obviously hugely disappointing & from my own perspective infuriating ...

Lots of work has gone into the organisation along with considerable expense.
WE have 35 special edition GISW2010 T shirts /daily refreshments & a Big Tarp to keep us cool ...

I wont be able to accept entry fees & will refund those already paid.

Totally sux. Your efforts in organising this are appreciated by many, I'm sure but it will be good to have a bunch of speed freaks gather together. No doubt the a...hole bureaucrats will be discussed.

Sorry to hear bureaucracy has won out yet again but for me and irrespective of whether it's an official or social event, it's still going to be cracker and doesn't change my excitement level in the slightest.
