Got a lot in common with windsurfing. The power plant is attached by a single universal joint, it's all controlled by a 28mm "never-let-go" boom and they're made in Thailand.

(They'd fit in a van, maybe repurpose an old formula board?)

This is an event held in Renmark SA each year in late summer. I've never been to one, but it's on the bucket list.

If you like the noise and petrol-head fumes, which are certainly not in common with windsurfing, then go for it!!!

You need to add in the fumes and noise produced getting to the sporting venue before casting that stone!

The race is always won by a local but those based in Adelaide have a 3hr drive. How much fossil fuel does a hotted up 25 hp motor use in a 50 km race? It's an extra 1 hr each way to Beachport. Might be a close call.

Thought the longtail outboards would be better suited to shallow water? The outboards on a leg would certainly be better in the corners.
