Not a biggy, but just really curious when most people decide NOT to post.
Due to any number of things, dying wind, storms, hangovers, broken gear, couldn't be ****** or just plain **** sailing when do you draw the line at NOT posting??
I sailed this arvo and was lucky to get planing for a total of 500 meters in short bursts.
It felt good after a hot day at work but really unless some other team member got a massive sail for points I wouldn't bother.
My top speed was 20.92 knots, that's front foot in just and milking it on a big board.
Just saying.

I think i dont post when i get planing less that about 5 times and if i dont think ill get over 30 knots i often dont bother putting the gps on not that i dont want to post less than 30 knots its just id rather not have it on my arm

does it matter what you've done? in a nutshell, no, The GPSTC is the best excuse to go sailing with your mates

Do you have an interesting story to tell about your session which can bring a smile to those less fortunate than yourself (at work)

Writing about your tales of woe, especially if you take the piss out of yourself can be very cathartic

I wear my GPS for every session and post every session. Its more for a complete record of my sailing for me, but also as team captain I try to set a good example to other team members to wear their GPS and post all sessions. Sometimes a seemingly insignificant result can help the score. I am thinking of one example where Decrepit put in a really huge distance effort but no other team member sailed that day so the score didn't count. Even a 1 km distance would have given the team a big distance average.

I sometimes post my story for their session even if I haven't worn my GPS And have no results

I wear the gps 99.9% of the times and record every session to my personal website, but I have the 20-20 rule for gpstc: at least 20 kms and 20 knots speed. Just to exclude those occasional non planing days when we get in the water just to muck around.

I post everything just because I want to keep track of my kms.. even if its only a few kms. Some have been PW's and good for a laugh..

Yep also like a good yarn and if I can make anyone laugh that's a +..

Generally too busy getting on the water to talk much at the session so I do my talking after..

^^^^^^^same. I post everything, BNJ, Freeride and slalom, I do so little in klms each year that I need them to build up with every session

I try to post every sailing just for records.
Sometimes sailing in strange , exotic places , one off but still fascinating...
say Abu Dhabi during short stop over
almost frozen Geneva lake
or in the middle of Berlin
exotic tropical Island
Then maybe speed is not even so important on occasional, random equipment but once posted , trip comes to history books

Every sesh I wear my GPS Regardless of conditions. So long as I'm on a Sail board I will post my session. I will post the wind direction, strength, Location, board, fin and sail size. Mainly for my own knowledge, but definitely for those that are interested as well.Also the accumulated Kms.
<div> Just the other day I got a PB on my Board fin and sail but would of had no idea unless I had recorded the information of previous sessions. Need to think about progression on all boards, rigs and fins. Thats my opinion. Love the self satisfaction that the GPSTC brings with the recorded data.As well as the social connection with fellow GPS Junkies.
GPSTC is all you want it to be and it is up to you and no one else how seriously you take it. You can try and catch that guy who is one knot faster or just do your own thing. The only pressure you should feel is from you and no one else.

I have my minimum speed set to 4 knots. If i get over that in a session, i post it. :P
