I woke up this morning with two messages on my phone from Craig.
The first at 5.30am said he had 15nm up and was changing from 7m to 5.8m.
The second at 6.45 said he was abandoning the attempt due to it being too windy!!!
A quick look at the Prom station says 30 knots gusting 40. That would be very similar at Sandy. It would be fun for a while but a bit too much for a whole day!
Sometimes, you can have too much of a good thing!

Well I thought it was on except the wind went round to the NE and increased. Left home at 1am and on the water by 3am, set up all the buoys with the red leds in them.They work really well,just need a few more lights in them but a great reference point to sail to. The three sets of head lamps was too much,could n,t see a thing with the glare from the sail and got confused and nearly sailed into the SW bank thinking i was going to the E one.Opps Scared the crap out of a pelican(and me) when it made a run at me off the water From 4am to 5 am was really good with the 7 on the AB (peak of 29k) but I could,t sail past the red boat hole mark so the runs were only 1Nm.A bit short for distance.Then the wind increased,out came the 5.8 on the Kids Pro until i started tail walking that too and bashing straight into square chop wasn,t a lot of fun so I pulled the pin.But I got to sail before work which has to be a PB for me .I sailed about 60ks Love this night sailing

You'd think with all the daylight Victoria has been saving over the years they would let Craig have some so he wouldn't endanger the pelicans in the dark

they have saved so much daylight over in Victoria that it has caused the drought
