While waiting for the killer 75cm slalomboard design by Mr. Love I decided to start making some lightweight parts for the new board.

Today I finished my first sample of a Custom Lightstrap made of EVA and Kevlar, 37 g dry.

Next thing is to make some ultrastiff assy carbon plates for max pressure and easy adjustment.

@mr love Thank you Martin, nice to hear. Sorry, but I became a little impatient when I saw your latest design in the design software thread. Awesome board which certainly deserves to be built (and of course its own thread here).

@Te Hau So here's the top secret 'process': 12 mm bottomsheet and 2 mm topsheet with 50 mm Kevlartape inlay, glued together with industrial glue. Edges trimmed with sandpaper.

Yes, it's a stickback tape, but I glued/sewed it anyway. The reinforcement is a 100mm piece of tape wrapped around the main strap. Time will tell if 3 layers are strong enough.

it should be ok but you don't have to stitch across, even though it's zigzag it may still tare and there's no need, ive been useing the stickyback kevlar & sail template mylar and laminateing with( captain doublesided sail tape ) it has a fiber in it and you cant tare it, it has to be cut
edit fred as long as all the layers are glued there shouldnt be a problem with the cross stitching, if you can get some captain tape thats what its used for
