I know how to split files with realspeed, but can you combine files ie when the GPS has been turned off in between sessions on the same day?

Anita, didn't you get my PM? Or couldn't you understand it?
Woops, of course you didn't, I remember writing it, but it's not in the "sent box", sorry about that.

As above, it's not in the sent box, so I must have got distracted before I hit send.
Have you found it in the "guides"?

Bender's reply has answered that question. Thanks.

Next question: how do you get the total distance from realspeed?

3rd question - for nm it has a distance for each result, and the distance is not quite the same for each. Surely a nm doesn't vary in length?

So in Real speed you should have 3 main panes top left has the tracks, bottom is the speed graph and right has a whole pile of figures, if "total Dop dist" isant there, right click in that pane, select "grid fields" and tick "tot dop dist" when you scroll to the end of the file, the number displayed there will be total distance in meters, you have to shift the decimal point 3 places to get km.

You're right NM doesn't change, but the GT31 only measure once a second, so it can't do distances accurately, we have to put up with the closest it can get in whole seconds. So the faster you're going the greater the distance will vary.

That's one of the reasons the GTC doesn't have a 500m division, the percentage error there is greater.

Thanks!
It is so good to know expert help is available and you won't have to wait long for an answer.
I think the decimal point needs to be moved three places though...

The easy way to see you distance is: File -> Properties

This opens a panel that gives both Tracepoint and Dopper distance. It's interesting to see the difference sometimes.
