Hardie perhaps next time, we should have the prize draw and then the sponsors that have so kindly donated cool stuff could then freight their prizes directly to the winners.

It seems crazy for eg. that the board gets sent to you in WA and then has to be sent back over east.

In relation to getting prizes to people. Surely the companies that have donated kit have established, reliable way/means of getting kit form A to B.

Has challenge approached them Re asisting with this.

It was my decision to have the prizes at the ceremony. I wanted people to see the kit that we're giving away, and if the person was there I wanted them to have instant gratification -- and the ability to sail it that day if they chose.

I told Hardie that the GTC would pay for freight, and that still stands. We've got a bit of money in the coffers from T-shirts, and part of that is set aside to pay for freight. It's not an issue.

Greyhound do it quite cheaply, but there is a length limit (can't remember what) - i think the board may exceed this and i had good results with Packsend.
I'd check out the insurance too. I had a mast delivered in a slightly compressed state once. Not happy and no recourse.
