I sailed alone at burrum Heads yesterday, I could have done with some local advice! At least it was windy, twenty knots plus some.
I crossed over the northern head and further up the north beach looking for the Walkers point speed strip, have to say I found it in a big way
I was watching the breakers on the outside of the sandbar and didn't notice how shallow the inside as become, my fin bottomed out at maximum speed resulting in a capapult with snapped a harness line, bent boom and three panels blown out of my 5.8.
Had to slog several kilometers home, at least the tide was running in !!!!
The forecast looks stronger today (20-30kn SE) , I hope that's correct as I'm down to a 4.7.
Anyone still keen for a trip up North?
