Shhh, don't tell anyone but 40 knots plus is achievable in any particularly strong Seabreezes. CC nearly cracked one on Saturday, Jet and MT have done it. Strong southerleys have proven 40 knots + potential in them and those Westerleys, now rare until next winter, are 45 knot material. What are you waiting for!!!! Bring weedies, and plenty of them. The locals will give you plenty of good advice to help you enjoy the sail, rather than plough the field!!!

It's hard to pick a best time to visit east coast speed spots like Primbee or Budgie. We get random southerlies throughout the year. Westerlies from June to November and NE seabreezes from Oct to Feb. If you can come at short notice then look out for a huge Westerly forecast, if you need to plan well in advance then come in summer, you will get some great sessions but might not be breaking the 40 barrier.

Bring lots of spare fins as they seem to be a disposable item at Primbee . The shells love them

Did I also mention Primbee has its own very own, on-water weather station for 2 minute resolution of wind, temp, sunlight, water depth, accessible via smartphone/the web?

On the downside, no toilets, no showers, no water (but plenty of parking so trailers are welcome!!!)
