hi all,
just letting you know that my dad has mucked around with his gps we have tried..... different sd cards, firm ware, unpluging it and doing some test runs on the bike with it. i think the only thing left is to send it back to the company.

Updating firmware is about your only option, if that doesn't work try invoking the warranty

Firmware update always seems to work, if not it's a dud and warranty

I just had my gt-31 freeze again today. This is the second time it's happened in the past month, and both times I had it set on the clock, under the menu of 'Trip Meter'. BTW I was paddling a SUP, not windsurfing, thus not using speed genie.

I fixed it by unplugging the battery again. For anyone else doing this, there are 7 screws to undo on the case (5 outside and 2 inside the card reader/plug area), and then one screw on the inside to take the circuit board off the casing. Next, carefully unplug the battery from the circuit board by pulling apart the small white connection. I let it sit for 10 seconds then plug it back in, and start looking for the screws that you should have put in a little container when you took them out. Next step is getting the magnifying glass out to get the screws aligned correctly because your eyesight just ain't what it used to be.

If anyone else has the 'freezing' problem, what setting was the unit on? Perhaps this makes a difference?

Ok, thanks Choco, I just reloaded the firmware (V1.2B1405x)... hopefully this'll solve the problem. Cheers, Craig
