The KPI of obtaining 40 kts peak speed on a custom foil will be achieved during 2023.Its interesting the journey of design and development is similar to speed windsurfing. The design numbers - 90% foil development / 10% sail development.
Tide and weed factors are irrelevant to the foil. The great ocean race fleet and the GP Sail craft are hitting amazing speeds in various water conditions and wind conditions. I am amazed at the research and development taking place in this space. But also the science and the physics involved.
I started foiling back in 2015 and did not have anybody to leverage off.
Now all I have are two fuselage kits permanently set up
1- light wind (8-15kts)
2-medium to gale force(18kts +)
When I look at my windsurfing inventory - 20 various fins etc.
What ever is your wind speed discipline is I support you in your journey.
Going fast on a windsurfing board is great therapy in the here and now.
