South West Rocks is definitely on the itinerary.
Can you launch from the gaol end?
Or better from town end.

Check this link for info: www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/New-South-Wales/Windsurfing-South-West-Rocks/

Be sure to contact Phil if you are heading there. He's always up for a windsurf (if not already on the water).

Cheers
Marty

Around Yamba this time of year with the arvo sea breeze try Whiting Beach in the river or Pippie Beach for the ocean.

Thanks for asking this question insight. With most of the replys giving south west rocks a big thumbs up. Makes my trip there mid January sound better that I could have hoped . Looks good. Can't wait My luck there'll be no wind then. Oh well SUP will get a workout

Whiting beach is just inside river mouth breakwall.
2-3km run up to Rabbit Island and then back in a N/Eer.
Only hazard is tiredness after several hours.

There are always fishies of all sizes in rivers
Still haven't beaten my Naut Mile PB I set there years ago.

Hey Insight, SWR's can be great fun. Lived here 24 years, only sailed for 4, but I know it's awesome fun with decent nor-easter. This year has been a little slow (same everywhere on the coast I think) but there's been some sweet days, and no doubt more to come this summer.

Keen to sail with anyone heading this way. Always good to have a few out blasting about

Here's a clip from a few weeks back. Sweet conditions- low tide, 16-22 knots, 24 deg water and full sunshine. More to come I hope.
