Hi can anybody tell me please why only sail in the low tide? seem you can have more fun in hi or middle tide. Is it council rules? I talk to locals they say no sharks to worry about. I like to here from local windsurfer if possible please. I should put the town HERVEY BAY. QLD.

You may also like to try Burrum Heads 25km North of Harvey Bay, any tide is fine there

Any winds with will work except West,
Sail from old boat ramp where Burrum Heads Road ends at water,
Southerly this weekend should be ok,
You can sail out a fair way but take care on out going tide
cheers

Hi, welcome to the bay,one of the majic spots , I too wondered why all seemed to prefer low tide, 15 years ago when I arrived, coming from the Gold Coast (wavesailing) ,
now I get it, as most sailors prefer slalom gear and free ride, it is way more comfortable sailing in smoother water, ie. when the tide is out and the sand bank provides shelter from the chop,
however if you want some good waves (onshore chop) Dundowran or Point Vernon(Gaterkers ) on high tide in a brisk Notherly are excellent , see you on the water
