Not at all. I somehow missed that story. That's bizarre. I would have expected a failed finbox before a catastrophic failure like that. Is that why you cut your thumb on your fin. You're keeping it extra sharp so it slices right through turtles without stopping?

Had one at shearwater where the mast pin snapped. Rig and board separated and I was sitting in the water, out going tide trying to swim back to shore. Luckily a kiter came and towed me in. Not a big stack but a pretty off putting experience that's for sure.
