To your first question I do not have an answer.
However K4 fins, I understand that when you read 'plastic' you think about the plastic skegs of yesteryear. These were crap, that's why we all moved on to carbon and G10 fins, right?
So moving back to plastic seems actually like a step back.... but it isn't: enter K4 fins.
About the how and the why I can't tell you but they just work! If the standard fins of one of my boards don't suffice, I always look to K4. I run them from sidefins to a 40 cm. freeride (Fang) and no complaints here. If you hit them on something, no problems, a little sandpaper and you're good to go.
They are a very popular choice of fins here in the Netherlands. Can't go wrong with them in my opinion.
ok..thanks. yeah I hav flashbacks from years past with the 'ancient' plastic crap fins. good to know about the K4
any reccomendations for a freeway thruster setup for B&J and pseudo wave sailing ?
