Anyone rigged a skate board with a windsurfing rig? Can you buy these anywhere or kits?

Cheers advanced.

Try this site for ideas www.turfdog.co.uk/ and there is also some information on Matt Roney's landsurfing on the windsurfingvictoria website http://www.wv.org.au/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 Not too sure about where to buy the gear from though. Apparently they use to meet out at Moorabbin airport area and ride their boards. I would be interested myselk as I believe it can really help your skills.

Yeah, did it when I was a teenager in the 80s on one of those skinny skateboard. just screwed the old styled diabolo at the front, but it was a big 6m2 with a massive boom so it was quite amazing to sail on the Sunday empty car park.
I just found yesterday a car park not too far from my house and probably will try again with my son and with some old gear.
But the best to try would be one of those kitewing.

I am thinking about building a land sailer. I built one out of scrap wood in me 20s with a old windsurf rigged attached, it was so much fun.. I think it would have to be the second best thing to windsurfing, land sailing..

I rigged up my skatey in the early 90's. Got my 5mins of fame on the weather with mark warren on the news as they were at the beach at the time and saw what we were doing in the carpark at wanda. Just drilled a hole in the deck to attach the mast base.

it got modified to make the area behind the mast wider, but is the best I built yet. sailed today, thermals again ,so i had 2 crashes when the wind changed 180degrees its just pain old gear is best when it smacks down on the bitumen, and knee and elbow pads and a helmet
