here's a different subject ..for a ocean sail ...to save a few tacks ..we walk to the furtherest point of our pier to jump off ..took a few times and ripped sails to figure out you got to get it clear ,as the pier acts like a magnet to a sail ..so getting it out as far as you can, seems to be a contest to us ....but get the wind behind you and the picture tells the rest ,not my best throw ,but nice landing ..

At Croaching Lion, Oahu, we jumped off the boat launch about 8' above the water. Held sail and board connected, inched to edge and low tossed during a gust, then jumped in to waterstart. Mostly just sailed across the mouth of the cove, just inside the whitewater of the outside sets.
Coming in, just sailed all the way downwind inside the cove.
Can't imagine trying to climb back up with gear.

LOL...nah..... there is a ramp further down .but no wind down there ..so sometimes a swim is required ..in some directions ..

we tried that leeD, But found they just dropped to close .plus didn't want the extra stress places on the mast foot with a 7.0 sometimes 8,0 .also the fisherman drop skeletons in here ,so jumping out on the board is safer for the legs ......

we have a challenge ,first one to hit the rocks on the other side wins .

Caesar would throw the board in first and then throw the sail to land on the uni and lock itself on.

Do you find it hard to put them together once in the water?

I was expecting a rotation technique like a hammer throw.

I sit on the board ,bend the neck over then attach ..but yeah when its rough it can be a mission ..but the chinook extensions have the button on the front ,so not too bad ..but it does take some strength to bend the necks over ...
