sail size

hey,only new to the sport and have just brought a JP excite 146L and at 93kg what
size sail would work best for me??

Where are you going to be sailing, and what is the average wind strength?

Thats is a how long is a piece of string question.

If you have a look at the JP web site and have a look at the technical data for your board it will give you the recomend sail size for the board . IN this case the 146 recomended sail size is between 6.0 to 10m .

As you are new to the sport I would aim for the smaller end of that scale to make it easer to learn.

If you find thats its to small dont worry it wont be wasted you will over time end up with a wardrobe of sails to suite the varrying conditions . Stick to secondhand

I agree, a 6m will be fine to learn with and not be too heavy. When you progress further, it will suit a smaller board in stronger winds. My most used sail is about this size. Having said that, with your weight, a slightly larger sail would also be suitable.
