Severne blade. landed onto of my sail. harness hook made a minor dimple(stretched ) into the window. no creasing, or puncture. wondering if taking a hair dryer and heating it up would make the material shrink back to position....even just a little ? Is there any fix ? had this happened to other sails...I usually just live with it. doesn't affect the sails performance . just a cosmetic issue.

I've heard of ironing it, hot air gun etc but as ugly as it may be I would just leave it. Probably make it weaker trying to fix it

I've wondered this too, also dented my 5.0 Blade in a similar way but I've never done anything about it.

A lot of plastics will return to their original shape with the correct amount of heat applied. However, getting that right balance can be the difference between a great job and, well, not so great

Fill the dimple with Six10 then leave it for at least a week in a room with a fan on.

hmmmm.....I may give that a try. at least I will know it can only get so hot. even if it goes down a bit. what sucks is my sail was a day old .

LOL....... same for me got catapulted head first into the panel above the boom on my new 5.3 bum n jump sail first time out, probably only an hour into the session leaving a sizeable dent from my helmet, so thanks Kato might try the same thing

You would still have the bulge on the other side though unless you ground it down.

Paint a nipple on it

No one is thinking of the obvious , the sail would be bigger now , you would need to go down a size.

Not if you put your harness lines in a different place to everyone else........

I landed in the foot of my brand new 7.5m Turbo. I was so relieved to see no damage to the sail..I realised later I'd damaged my ribs instead... Still, they were good after
5 weeks..

I will post results (if any) when I try it. Maybe in a few days..

Well.some of you probably already knew this. I tried the boiling water . It really didn't do much. I think it brought it down a bit. If i was to give it a percentage.maybe 15-20% improvement . Perhaps the water was not boiling..I was lazy and got the hot water from the Kureg machine. Anyway. I will leave it as be.not that big of a deal.

I was gonna take a heat gun to it..but I could see my self melting a hole through the sail..so I figured I better not.

Better safe than sorry. Thanks for letting us know, I saw the dimples in my big blade this morning and I just figure they're going to be staying there.

Wise not to take extreme measures. A hole in a sail is slower than a dimple. Besides, this young lass had dimples and it didn't seem to hurt her career. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimples_(1936_film)
