I just turned 40!

My goal was to do a forward loop whilst still in my thirties. I just made it. Its not pretty, but man it felt AWESOME!!

congratulations Yuppy that is awesome!

So good that you got the personalised tuition - how good is it having Matt follow you round sailing taking video and giving you tips - money well spent whatever it cost! You should be proud of your efforts and outcome!

Great stuff Yuppy! I've put the idea of looping behind me (mainly based on cost of gear and body) but your vid may just be the motivation I need to have another crack at it.

Great stuff! Congrats.
I see lots of posts about doing rolls and loops and get enthused until I realise I'm too scared Thumbs up from me

I'd love to do that but I can't afford all the expenses. ( The medical expenses that is. )
That was a a great sound track to go with the vid. Spot on.

Sweet,

…life is about moving boundaries.
Your next goal before turning 50 would be a double.

….right?

The master is giving some lesson.

Hi Tristan

It not that it was hard. Just bloody scary.

The biggest thing - without a doubt - that cracked it for me was having Matt pumping me up. Knowing he was videoing it also increased my bravery.

He said to me I can do practice loops (without the board) for the next five years. " today you ARE going to do a forward loop". It was kind of like a prize fight. I kept getting knocked down. Matt would just say. Let's do it again. Surprisingly, because I fully committed each time, I never hurt myself. If you pull hard with you back hand and look under your back armpit you WILL rotate. And if you stack it you will land clear of the board.

The key is to find a mate with a go-pro.
