We have a great wedge wave which forms up on the Sth side of the cut.

Not as big as that, but the granite Groyne in front of you gives you a bit more excitement than a soft sandy beach.

It's good watching the local Boogers give half a kick and take of like rockets

My brother and I surfed the cut a few years after it was made and it was breaking like Backdoor Only it was chest high. Every wave spat

Yeah Pyramids can allow ya to backdoor a barrel but most of the time you aren't going to come out of it.

It's a good little spot when there is no swell anywhere else, but very closey.

The wedge wave actually forms up on the out side of the groyne and is quite specy to watch, never had the courage to try it myself even though I've watched the local groms get out there and launch on it quite safely

Way way way way way back when I used to surf (late 70's very early 80's) we used to surf (occasionally) pretty much where the cut is now. Had to walk up the beach from Avalon, which itself was accessed by a sandy track, or bush bash your way in past the old rubbish dump.

We used to call it Dixies or Dixielands, cripes knows what the locals called it.

Used to be fun, but didn't work all that often.
