Do u mean crack at the bottom of the hole in the deck - where the fin bolt goes thru?
Or in the box?

if it's a crack about 1cm I wouldn't worry about it its only a crack in the glass over the hollow cavity of the fin box,the box should still be sealed, if there was any water in the tail of the board you would know when you pick the board up

First thing you need to do is to run a power saw through the board, to see where the crack is.

Next thing, you need to fill that crack with polystyrene.

After that, you really should add some divinycell and glass, but if you don't want to, just add the finbox, mast track and you are set!

Yeah, It's probably a bit too extreme, and you probably aren't trying to widen your board either ;-)

If the crack is just near where the screws go in, you are probably okay to use an epoxy to seal the crack. The boxes are tough, so its probably just the outer layer of glass that has cracked.

The cut in half pic is useful though!
As u can see Gav, if the crack is where the bolt HEAD sits (ie: can see it from the top) then there is not much to worry about. A dribble of epoxy would not hurt, if you don't mind leaving it for a week to set even superglue will do.

as you can see in the pic , the front part of the box joins the deck and the back for some reason (I imagine an old repair) is missing , your board it should also go to the deck, there should be no divinicell over that cavity only glass

Keef, the powerbox there was after I retrofitted it to a JP RWW which originally had a US box. The rear of the box doesn't sit flush with the deck because I didn't want to touch that part of the board. The rest was hidden under the footstraps, so it didn't matter.
